Veterans Day at OHES

On this day, we honor all active duty and veteran members of the Armed Services who serve our country with such courage and bravery. Our country’s greatness is built on the foundation of your valor and sacrifice. We want to take the time today to say THANK YOU for your years of service to our country and for keeping us and the ones we love safe! You have put yourself on the line to protect our freedom and made sacrifices to be away from your family to serve. Our heads rest easy knowing there are dedicated people like you caring for what our country is all about.  There are no words that adequately convey the gratitude we have for you and your service.

Thank you to all the volunteers we had today to celebrate our Veterans Day with our students.  The students enjoyed the celebration stations where they tried out boot camp, learned how to fold the flag properly, heard about what it is like to be deployed and made thank you notes for soldiers, and created sidewalk artwork and murals. We listened to the beautiful performances by our 6th grade band and strings groups and our 5th and 6th grade choirs.  The weather could not have been more perfect for the day.
